Lucy started Maggie Wags at 3am in late May of 2020. She was out of work, done with school, and stuck in the house because of, you know, the global pandemic happening outside. Having already injured herself in her first two attempted hobbies (clogging and contortion), she decided to try an, erm, less dangerous outlet. She thought collar making would be fun, given that she had always bought her dogs and cats new collars for every holiday, season, occasion, or for no reason at all, and keeping up such a wardrobe for her pets was getting costly for a poor college student. That night, she designed a logo, had business cards made, built an Etsy site, and ordered all the supplies needed—all before actually making her first dog collar!
A year later, Lucy was booking craft shows and markets left and right, selling collars and leashes both online (around the world!) and in person, and building lasting relationships with the fantastic maker community of WNY. In her free time, Lucy enjoys studying animal behavior, learning to speak French, and playing with her dog, Ellie. She also likes to pet all the dogs.
