To measure for a martingale: Measure your dog around the neck where the collar normally sits. Then measure your dog's head behind the ears at the base of the skull. Choose a size from the size chart (above) that includes both numbers. If your dog's measurements do not fall into one of the sizes provided, please choose the closest size and include your dog's measurements in the option below.
The closure you choose is based on personal preference. Buckles are great for dogs with floppy ears so you don’t have to worry about fitting the collar over their ears each time. You also don’t have to worry about adjusting the collar each time (though you should still check the fit each time).
Martingales are meant for dogs who slip or back out of their collars. It is not meant to be used as a device for leash training dogs who pull.
